The National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia (NFBWV) will hold its annual state convention Friday-Sunday, October 9-11, 2026, in South Charleston, WV. All meetings, events, lodging, and meals are at the Holiday Inn and Suites Charleston West.

Anyone whose lodging expenses are not covered by the organization should make room reservations directly with the hotel.
Registrants are entitled to participation in all sessions, entry into door prize drawings, a Friday evening sit-down dinner, Saturday lunch, and banquet.
This year’s National Representative is Norma Crosby of Houston, President of the National Federation of the Blind of Texas, and current treasurer and long-time leader of the National Federation of the Blind. Crosby will lead convention discussions on a number of topics and will present the keynote address at the Saturday evening banquet.
The opening session begins on Friday at 2:00 PM and features updates on NFB initiatives and advocacy efforts at national and state levels, human rights protection for blind West Virginians, services available from a number of agencies and organizations, and other topics of importance to the blind community.
The Friday evening dinner offers an opportunity for fellowship and will be followed by an informal bake sale.
The agenda for Saturday morning’s business session includes election of officers, action on several proposed organizational policy provisions, and consideration of resolutions. A special presentation during the afternoon session will feature a panel of Federationists--both long-time and recent members-- sharing personal stories about why they joined and remain committed to the work of the Federation. A boxed lunch will be available between the morning and afternoon sessions.
The high point of the convention is the Saturday-evening banquet, where members will gather for food and fellowship, special recognitions, and a motivational address from the national representative.
The convention concludes on Sunday morning with the organization’s annual memorial service--a chance to remember and honor deceased members. It will be followed by a brief meeting of the newly-elected Board of Directors.
